Personally I like Psychology. I find it interesting to learn about what kinds of things go on in someones head. I consider it a science and that psychologists can be very helpful when they dont just make you take medicine.

Science is when you find the problem, examine it and have the treatment for it. Psychology cured a lot of patients and this made it a science and we have a lot of books we can read and discover how our psychological problems are the same wherever we are!
I read a book by a famous psy where he wrote: (in french) "si la medicine est la science du corps, la psychologie est la science se l'âme" (can be translated to: if medicine is the science of the human body, psychology is the science of the soul or mind).

It seems to me that shrinks are more screwed up than the people they are supposed to be helping.
I hear stories on the news in the paper or radio of them getting busted for some kind of really kinky sex offense or whatever.
I personally do not believe that one needs a shrink for most matters.
But I do say we have to have them for the real extreme types of cases where the courts are involved to weed out the violent trying to use insanity for a lesser charge.

I think mental health professionals are absolutely necessary. They are the ones who make aware to us our feelings. Sometimes we are blinded by our own feelings or we focus on things that aren't really the problem. Psychologists and psychiatrists are just the people who give you an extra little push that you need in order to truly understand yourself.

Psychologists can be helpful, and it is a science. But many psychologist have mental problems themselves to begin with, or gain mental problems from listening to everyone else's problems all day long.

It can help to make feelings clear. most of us are not so clear about what is realy going on. Example: We often experence mis-directed anger. That is anger one might have at one person, your boss, is directed at you partner when you get home.
I find it most interesting how we realy work inside.
