No it's not normal, it sounds like warped rotors but could be something else. Take it back and have it checked.

Well, we now know that your b/f doesn't know much about cars! No, it is NOT normal for this to happen on ANY vehicle.
Some rust may build up on the rotors while a vehicle sits but this is cleaned off in the first few miles of normal driving. If it is so severe as to cause braking problems or steering wheel shake then the dealer is going to need to make repairs.
Take it back to the dealer immediately.

The anti-lock brakes would in person-friendly words be kicking in once you're braking too complicated. undergo in ideas, for the first few hundred or a million,000 miles you're meant to observe the brakes very gently, on condition that its the (no pun meant) breaking-in era for them. The vibration of the steerage wheel might want to easily advise that the tires are not nicely balanced. In any adventure, if it really is a clean automobile, do not fool round -- take it back to the broking! (i anticipate that that is lower than assure.) that's what the guaranty's for . . .almost no new automobile -- in spite of the make and type -- drives off the showroom floor without defects.

Do you know if the dealer put premium wheels after it came out of the factory. The rotor might be warp due to over tightening the lugs. New cars almost always come with a warranty tell them to check out the rotors. Also have them check if the wheels are balanced properly.

no it isnt normal at at, either the rotor is warped or the caliper itself isnt grabbing correctly. it "could" be the rubber brake-line hoses collapsing under the pressure but thats rare and unlikely. my guess is the rotor or caliper. neither one is terribly hard to fix. but be sure to take it back in as soon as you can. the longer the worse/. good luck

Its a BRAND NEW CAR. Get it fixed. UNDER WARRANTY.
You will NOT have to pay for this. It is a common problem in new and old cars. They will know what they will have to do.
