India - nation of a billion people has been playing soccer/football for more than 50 years, thats almost twice or three times the time played than some of the smaller teams in the current WC. India, is not even the asian champ forget qualifying for the WC. India is a nation of couch potatoes who sit and watch every sport on TV. They follow each game to its minutest details and maintain amazing stats but when it comes to playing, they laze it out.
Another problem with India is that they worship cricket like crazy and look down upon all other sports. This attitude will never make this country do well in any sport.
