well it can be hard on the enamel on your teeth but other than that your probably ok.

I heard craving ice is a symptom of iron deficiency, or some other mineral deficiency. Are you taking your prenatal vitamins?

I had this same craving with my second child. I didn't eat ice cubes though, I ate cups and cups of crushed ice. Or I would empty out the ice trays just as they were starting to freeze. Ice cubes could be a little tough on your teeth. Be careful there. I ate ice all day long, everyday. I had no problems from it and neither did my son.

Eating ice in and of itself isn't really harmful to you or your baby, you're getting more liquids, but there are two concerns. You might chip a tooth, and in some cases, craving ice cubes can be a sign of anemia. Talk to your doctor at your next appointment, and by now you might be going weekly since you're at the end of your pregnancy.

The last three months of my pregnancy I had 3-4 cups of ice cubes a day if not more. My daughter was very healthy and still is. (She is two.) I never had any complications with my pregnancy. Also, why would eating ice harm your baby? All you are doing is drinking water in a different form. Good luck and best wishes.

Ice-cubes are just water, so they can't harm you or your baby. But the midwife made me eat ice-cubes to wake up my baby when I was in labour that wasn't progressing (I don't know how!!! ..it worked) so maybe too many is not a good idea.

i dont see why or how it could, I ate ice all the time with all of my pregnancies just like I do with the baby I am carrying now and I probably eat more than you do (i keep 12 trays of ice in the freezer and i never go without filling them after every use) Eight icecubes equal about 1 cup of water, and i am not fond of drinking water, unless its filtered a certain way. If in doubt, do check with your OB or Midwife, they know whats best for you and your baby. Good luck, and eat a few cubes for me and my baby too~!

There is no harm in it. I have 3 children and I craved ice ALL THE TIME. It wasn't until my last child I found out my iron was very low. Have yours checked and I'll bet it's low. Nobody can tell me why I craved ice but my doctor told me when you crave it, your iron is low. But, in the meantime, munch away!

There's nothing wrong with it. You need to drink plenty of water when you're pregnant, so this just helps out some.

Its harmless. If you can eat icecubes, then I am sure you dont need to worry about harming your baby, it will have inbuilt cooler and also the ability to survive Antarctica temperatures. Since eating icecubes passes through the digestive system and has nothing to do with your fallopian tube, I think the only effect it will have will be to cool your baby as it passes the small intestine. Free AC, that would be greaet

You might be Iron deficiant, or Anemic...i became anemic with my pregnancy and I really wanted ice too..Im 24 weeks...ice won't harm you or your baby, but it's not good for your teeth...but don't get it from take-out restraunts b/c you never know what water they use to make their ice.

No harm to you or baby -- you're teeth may take a hard hit! Maybe switch to crushed ice.
