If you are allergic to wasps, it is important that during the wasp season you have an adrenalin pen handy in case you are accidentally stung - see your doctor about this.
It is advisable to get a professional pest controller in to get rid of them, trying to deal with them yourself may result in you merely angering them, increasing the risk to you and your son.
You do not say in what part of the world you live, wasps nests vary in size and ferocity, but it is best not to take chances.

wow. I have never called anyone, except my husband, to kill wasps. Then again I'm not allergic to them. We or he gets wasps spray from Wal-mart. If he can he knocks the nest down after he sprays it and steps on it. But hey if ya can call someone to do it for you then thats great. I was thinking we would have made a lot of calls over the last 5 years.

If the wasp byke is hanging from something the easiest way is to get a bucket or jar depending on the size of the byke and fill it with diesel. Put this directly under and leave it. The fumes will kill the wasps without getting them p*ssed off. If your feeling brave try and gently knock the byke into the jar/bucket this will work faster.

Get a few cans of wasp and hornet killer. Be sure it says it will kill on contact and sprays up to 20 feet. That should take care of your problem.

I had one - I called the council they put me in touch with a local pest company - I had to pay £30 I suppose cos I'm not council resident, and they put some toxic stuff on it and got rid of it in just one visit. Certainly not something to attempt yourself, and don't put spray on it as you're dealing with hordes of them, not just one!

Good grief! You aren't dealing with toxic waste here. Either leave it alone or (if you must) spray it with wasp and hornet spray. That's simple enough, eh?

You need to contact your local council & they will put you through to the correct dept who deal with this. It is likely they will send someone out to get rid of it for you free of charge, In the meantime stay away from it.

get it removed by someone who knows what they are doing, and mind if you do it yourself, by smoke etc, that they don't go to the eaves of your house, because that is a favourite haunt for wasps, if they get half a chance.
so best removed for good by pro's

Get some wasp sprays. They die instantly, doesn't give them time to react

Contact the council they'll come and destroy it. Don't attempt it yourself. VERY dangerous, have you never seen 'The Life Of Grime' on BBC1?.
