I am in India, a consult of Indian/Imported Marble & Granite.

Clay is sediments of limestone, fine sand,:

smaller pieces have larger surface of pores, that would take in rain, water, sun and the expansion/contraction friction is greater, and will soon weather 1st.

.Large blocks of clay, have comparitively lesser surface to offer for expansion/contraction,as compared to smaller pieces, so it will weather 2nd.

Granbite is sedimantary rocks, formed in the eaqrths crust. It is hardest of all earth/rock materials.

Smaller granite pieces offer greater exposure to vagaries of nature, to they weather 3rd in the line, and

the last weathering and the strongest ine the set of 4 is Large blocks.
