Not after Beckham and Rooney went! Other players did a lot better than they had in a long long time! But that's foot ball for you! They've always been bad at penalties and Ricardo saved 3! They should have won it before it got to that stage.

It was quite amazing to see England play as well as they did minus Beckham and Rooney! Lennon nearly scored a few times too! Had the same team (Second half) been on throughout this world cup then i've no doubt that they would have done a lot better, their confidence would have grown and they would have been practically unbeatable.

Thing about foot ball is not only about a game plan but opportunities that must be taken and a bit of luck as well!

No, England didn't deserve to lose! No teams deserve to lose. I am upset though that England lost, i would of loved to see them beat Portugal! I rate we would of had beat them if Rooney and Beckham didn't go off. I must admit England gave Portugal a fright and run for their money!!

The best question would be, did portugal deserve to win, the answer no, as portugal only wins with provoking other players (with the exception of Figo, who is a very fair and good player)

this english team is all hot air. it was lucky to scrape thru to the 2nd round. england has been the most overrated team in the world in the last decade. what has it been able to achieve? nothing!
just bcos the players r well known as they play in EPL doesn't mean that they can perform at world stage equally well. it is the same case with spain. at least, spain don't make as much noise for a team which has not much in the world cups or european championships.
so, england come back again with a better squad and show us that u deserve to be touted as a genuine world cup challenger.

Yes, they did! After Rooney was sent off, they simply put 9 men in the goalkeepers area and defended. They were hoping for the penalty kicks to go their way. But, they forgot about Ricardo. God, he was inspired!!!
Anyway, a team that has a player like Crouch... come on the man can`t do anything with the ball...
Portugal was better and and luck on its side. And that`s what it takes to win

No they don't deserve to lose, I wish they won the game because they will be a good game against france and more fun to watch.
they were down to 10 player even with that they dominate the game and the miss a lot chances to score.

I don't think so.They deserved to win. They played with 10 men for 50 mins. They played good football, its heartbreaking to see them exit from the world cup.

never rated Owen Hargreaves till the international cup. yet you need to tell he replaced into mushy playing in German stadiums. he's used to the crowds and the pitches.... It extremely confirmed. wish he can keep on any further. He extremely merits (alongside with John Terry) alot of credit from us England followers
