the teen age generation, absloutly disrespectful, abnoxiouse and have no manners whatsoever. Now if people will say i am making matters worse they need to go out in the street and try pass a panch of teenagers and get the result.

I think it all depends on where you live and the lifestyle you grew up in. I think this generation has its good and bad areas. I like the fact that more people, especially women are becoming independent, there is so much freedom and opportunity. However I think people have become more distant, there is not a close family unit as there was in the 1900's and there is more obesity. And also people are power and money hungry now. It all seems to be money, polluting, obsession with the rich and famous and a loss of communication. We need to stop and think where we are going and how to better the world for future generations.

Well I'm an 80s chick and I think it was the best of times. There may have been drugs about in thosse days but I certainly wasn't offered them too often and made to feel like I was missing out. I partied hard and loved the music and clothes. I respected my elders and loved the babies. I found it easy to get and keep a job without having to go through college and uni.
There seems to be so much pressure on the kids these days to succeed and get so many grades etc. I don't find the new generation of kids respectful a lot of the time and what the hell do they walk round wearing?! Also, I worry a lot about the drugs culture in our area and what my two sons (one of whom is 15 now) are going to be exposed to.
Oh my God!!......I sound like my Mother!!

The kids of today (I'm not that old I'm 33) are heading for real trouble, they do not know the difference between right & wrong and seem unable to treat anyone with respect altho they all want themselves to be treated with great respect.
Education standards are lowering & common sense is lacking (you only have to read the stupid questions on here to see that).
Add to that the financial problems the next generation will have such as the current pension crisis & the loss of the U.K manufacturing industry & the popularity of outsourcing work to India and the young today are going to have a real mess to deal with thats if they even exist with the damaged ozone layer and global warming

I think our Generation have no backbone whatsoever, kids today are raised to be a bunch of ******* or hardcore thugs. There will be some who will actually be great, but where i live there's always these two extremes everywhere.
I think the Generation in World War 2 were a much better generation than us.
But i think our generation is ALOT better than the hippie generation.

Hello and good morning to you, Mr. Happy!
Ermm, how old are you??
Then I'll answer.
I do think people are getting too tolerant of bad manners, lack of respect, poor service etc. It does seem to be getting worse, but if you're in your twenties, then I don't hold your generation totally reponsible. We all have a part to play.
It's a sign of the times, kid. Good lyrics, eh?
Have a super day. From an older lady.

Overall, I think the current generation is lost. They have nothing to fight for because everything is handed to them on a plate. Their relationship with technology means they have lost some of the skills required to interact and negotiate directly with others. They lack self-discipline and think it's OK to do what they want, when they want, without any foresight or thought of consequence and repurcussions. They are, unfortunately, a real product of the times. Directionless, shallow, weak-minded, celebrity-obsessed, totally self-centered and without shame.
But not all of them! And we have to ask, what made them that way?

If by your generation you mean the young today, well I think yo are great but then I have two lovley sons your age!!!!!
I don't think you are worse - but I do think there are more pressures in society that could make anyone worse. Drugs, alcohol, guns, unemployment, gangs with knives - that's a lot for you to cope with.

It's tough to say. We are in an inbetween period...there is no clear right or wrong. There aren't many issues to stand for. A lot of barriers have already been broken. I think the Gay issue will be the biggest social issue for this generation...gay and immigration.

Totally agree with Super_Star.
I had my teens in the 80's we had discipline. We had imagination. TV or computer games never ruled our lives. We were outside building dens in the bushes. playing cowboys and indians, cops and robbers, star trek etc. We quaked in our boots if told off by the teacher. didnt answer back and ate what was put in front of us. I am so grateful for the time i grew up in, wouldnt want to have grown up in this time for anything.
Bring back the 80's.
