general question about the difference between real life and the internet.

No. I don't know you. It's really not that different from my attitude online. I will answer your question, but I wouldn't IM you the same way I wouldn't speak to you on the street. I'm very shy and I have to get used to someone before I'll talk to them, even a new colleague at work.
People are more likely to IM you than approach you in reality because of the safety issue, and the anonymity that can be achieved through the Internet.

Once I have seen a German film titled: The girls of Zoologischegarten. The film is about the drug addicts. The next day the girl played on the main role was behind me at a C&A market queue. I wondered and even forgot to say a simple Hello to her.
I could have talked to her indeed. but I failed to do so. regerets yet.

Well, it's kinda hard since the picture is small. But if I was sitting and you couldn't see that I'm twenty miles tall, and if we had an actual friendship on the internet, I'd probably say hello.

Sorry, but...its too early in the morning for me - from here, your photo looks like two boulders in the penguin enclosure at the zoo.

I wouldn't talk to you, because you have no idea who i am, you would think i was just some random freak, call the police and it would all end in tears.
That and just because i have seen your picture doesn't mean that i know you.
