Are there enourmous hoolows beneath the surface of the earth, getting bigger the deeper they are, or is it all one solid mass after a certain point?

if you're asking whether the earth is hollow, the answer is no.

caves are unlikely to exist in the magma or in the core of the earth.

however, the base(s) of the deepest cave(s) may be near the magma-crust boundary. caves at that depth are likely tiny.

however, expanding gases or steam could produce relatively huge caves nearer the surface -- without venting!

Well if you believe what was portrayed in the science fiction movie 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' , yes. But in reality , after a certain point, it's a solid mass. That is until you get to the molten core. Also remember the molten core melts surrounding rock. This molten material moves upward though points of weakness, and in various places around the earth, reaches the surface in the form of volcanoes.

There are caves all over the world, from the Carlsbad Caverns, to the Blue Grotto. Various natural forces form these caves, some are caused from glaciers, some from water, and others from volcanic activity.
