Have more police officers patrolling crime ridden areas.
Stop letting illegal immigrants in.
Educate and campaign against knife crime.
Give more severe punishments to criminals.

Get rid of the bloody 'do gooders' who always seem to take the side of the offender instead of the victim, Bring in mandatory sentences and USE them . How often do we see blatant violent people get such meaningless sentences & then along comes an appeal & the sentence is reduced for being too harsh in the first place! These scumbags dont consider the life long sentence of fear that a victim (assuming they survive a knife attack) has to carry..... bring back some type of punishment that these so called hard men will think long & hard about b4 they consider using a knife

It's really tough as they are such easy items to get hold of - you can do so much damage with just a kitchen knife. It needs to start very young with parents (and to some degree schools) teaching children good values and then I think there needs to be a zero tolerance policy on knife crimes and posession from the police and courts - very strict sentences for these offences.

We can't, please think about it every house in the UK probably has a knife of some sort even schools have them how else would we eat or prepare food? The knife is not the problem it's the nutters that use them!

Let people have guns, that would put a big dent in knife crimes. At least give the *police* guns, sheesh!

a big giant magnet to pick up everything metal then sift through the lot and and give the knives back to people with no hands or arthritus or DOGS yeah dogs are the way forward

make them work on the hospital wards for free and make them see just how bad people get hurt. also for all crime i say bring back the chair

make them a restricted item in shops.
They lock up hairdryers and curling tongs, yet knives can be picked up by anyone?????
