Going to Tools > Internet Options has already been tried frequently but is ignored

Go to Tools then select internet options. Type yahoo address in the home page bar then apply and ok

If wanadoo/freeserve/whatever the hell it's calling itself these days is your internet service provider, they have been taken over by orange, hence this has become your homepage. Just change your default homepage through tools/internet options to rectify this.

get ad-watch or ad aware,.., i'd recommend ad-watch.... but it's paid and comes bundled in ad aware....what's happening is the software is changing your home page again after you changing it. use a toolbar - yahoo or google, it might help to prevent. ad-watch is the best as it locks your registry setting. Try to get it from p2p morpheus ( get it from download.com)

use firefox...ie has so so many problems. It does not allow anything to be installed.

goto tools internet options and change home page again.

open your browser
go to tools Internet options
change the address bar to what you want
then apply
