Compared to doctors, engineers don't make that much!

US - doctors in secondary private care can make up to $800,000 or more per year! Family doctors fare less well.

The average wage for a young certified surgeon is $200,000, which rises with experience.

I don't know about doctors in Government service, but a private doctor earns much more than an engineer. People fall ill, run towards doctors who picks your pocket. Who will go to engineer like patients?

depends. Doctors have to pay out malpractice insurance. It's so expensive that some leave medicine and go into law. I don't think engineers need malpractice insurance.
