We have a 4-year old kid and we'll be leaving for San Francisco on July 19, 2006. If we are travelling by taxi from the airport to our hotel, do we need a child/booster seat in the taxi? We would be grateful if you could advise before then. Many many thanks in advance!

I would think so. Aren't you going to go other places too??? You may need one then too. They make some pretty lite weight ones for travel just go online and find one. You still have time. Not lots so I would hurry.

Yes. California law requires the use of a booster seat unless the child is more than 6 years old or 60 pounds

Thats the least of your worries I was using one taxi service and they said my son was to small and hes 12 and he had to sit in a booster seat.

California is weird. Great to have one,, but in cabs, it is usually less strict. Why can't a 4 year old wear a seatbelt?

You are going to need one in the airplane as well. Just take it with you.
