I have 3 tattoo's a tinkerbell on my lower back, flounder from little mermaid on my ankle & a heart on my pubic bone with boyfriend name under it.
I want to get a little cute one on my neck just below my hair line but my boyfriend of 3 years said not to as he dont like them and as i have 3 already that's enough, should I listen to him or do what I want?
also what do you think I should have done on my neck?

It's your body honey so if you want a tat go get one. I have 8 of them, some good some not so good. So make sure you go to a good shop and check out there Flash. I have a chinese peace ***** on the back of my neck. There are some really cool designs. My girlfriend has a man and woman intertwined it's really cool. It's kind of tribal but where the legs would be it turns to like ribbons and wraps around each other. There are soooo many cool Tats out there. When you go to the shop ask if the free hand, some of the greatest tats are the artist's work not a flash or cartoon character. Enjoy your new tat honey.

I have 3 tattoo's too. I also would like another one but hubby said NO 3 is PLENTY! so we are kind of in the same boat there honey. I think been as you want it in a place thats not likely to be seen unless your hair is short go for it. You sound like a bit of a disney queen which is super as i am too. How about some kind of symbol to do with your self like star sign or something. good luck x

My girlfriend has a butterfly on the back of her neck. Some people frown on it, but most people like it and two of our friends have copied her and had their own heart designs inked on their necks. At the end of the day, its your body, so do what you want with it, your boyfriend has no right to tell you not to get one done.

It's your body, so do what you feel is right.

Remember that they're forever and boyfriends come and go, so if you're having a permanent scar do something that you associate with you and your life, not somebody in it - unless it is someone who is here forever (or has passed away). My tattoo is to remember passed relatives and I'm extremely proud of it. I'm not sure I would feel the same if I'd had a Celtic band or something that was 'fashionable'.

Take your time and choose carefully, you've the rest of your life to regret it otherwise!

At the end of the day its your body, so I think it should be up to you if you want a tattoo. Tell your boyfriend this but if its going to cause alot of arguments then may be its best to leave getting a tattoo. If you are going to get one I suggest you get something similar to your other tattoo's- something small and cute like a rose.

It's your body, your choice however, tattoo's on the neck look "Skeevy", tattoo's on the arm looks like "Hey, I got drunk, and look what I did to myself", tattoo's on the outer calf say's "I'm bad enough to get a tattoo but, I'm kinda scared my Dad will see it", now some tattoo's are beautiful works of art, and I enjoy looking at them ON SOMEONE ELSE. The problem with tattoo's is that you can be a genius but, when people see them on you, they think that you're a tattooed moron, totally unfair, and who cares what people think but, this can get in the way on a job interview. I've done a lot of things to my body, I can't write on it, to each his own though.

Hiya honey,

If you think you and this guy could make a go of it then respect his feelings, at the end of the day he will also have to live with the tatoo.

It's not about backing down it's simple mutual repect for each other.

I think you should do what you want as it's you're body and he would get used to it.

Each to there own of course, cartoon characters don't do it for me, what about a word in Japanese that means a lot to you or your name. I have my name in Japanese tattooed on my lower back. or design your own motif of swirls or lines.

Agreeing with others though, do think about it as people can get the wrong impression and your career could depend on it.

I’m a tattoo artist, and first.........these people are right........your body is your temple. And no one, really no one should tell you what to do with your temple. But in life, and especially in relationship it’s not that easy. What would he do……..??? Would he do the same for you…??? Is he listening to your prayers…??? Normally he should…….´cause he is a part of you, and you a part of him……When I’m wrong, and he is not a part of you any longer one day, you still can get as much tats as you want…….We’ll never get to old to ink our body…………

your boyfriend shouldn't tell you what to do, however you should consider his feelings.
the neck is not a feminine place to tat and he is probably trying to protect you from the abuse you may get on the street.
i no it's your business and your decision but ask him if it was somewhere else would he mind?? I'm guessing it's the position of your tat that's the problem
