I am going to be upgrading my G broadband router and getting a N router. My idea is this: Connect the N to the main broadband line that is comming into the house and still have the G router on the other end of the house to use as a connection for a seperate network without the broadband internet connection. Is something like this possable? I have little experience with wireless networking and I am not sure if this can be done. Any thoughts would be nice. Thanks!

You will need wireless N Network cards for all systems you intend to use on your N network. Purchase all N products from the same manufacturer. Check with you ISP provider and make sure that your modem will work with the N router. The check and see if the new router is backward compatible with your G equipment.

Does your G Router at the other end of your house connect to a second modem or is all on the same line? Actually, it only has to connect to a modem and you should be OK.

If it is all off of the same modem, then you can have two separate networks if the G & N will not work together, one network if the N is backwards compatiable.

There are more desirable antennas that you'll placed on the router. it really is think to volume the determination yet I even haven't any information if it does. I actually have a linksys b device. Yea, old-shaped, notwithstanding it extremely works and that i'll't justify the improve. yet so a options as i am going to tell there is no longer that a lot progression in determination with the G until eventually you upload a more desirable antenna.
