I think both go hand in hand. You can not say one of them to be more significant. While biological discoveries open up a new world of life. .. Make us understand the origin of life, the cause of diseases and the life cycle, on the other hand inventions not only falicitate these discoveries and help our scientists be more accurate in all fields. They also give us a more luxurious lifestyle.
So... both are indespensable.

i think the best biological discovery is discovering life and how life is fromed and started. it's all in the word biology, which means the study of life. from that, people can go on and on disvoreing other stuffs and inventing biological stuffs. as for inventions, i'd be more generalized as to saying that it would be the stuffs that could save or harm/destroy life...
