Megha, Install the Flashplayer 9, some sites may be requiring the latest version of the flash player. Generally these flash files are kept in the add banners in any websites.
Other sites will also use the flash objects, a good example can be a Greetings site in which flash greetings are available.
There is no problem in installing the activeX control, since you are saying it is "Adobe flash player 9".

This MSG clearly state that you do not have activeX control Adobe flash player 9. Therefore you cannot see there page. This is the reason it is asking would you like to INSTALL THE ACTIVE X if yes then it will INSTALL IT AND whatever the content on that site you will be able to see it.

Yes your computer does not have Flash player installed. go ahead and click install on the message. That should take care of it. Flash player is safe to install
