"Superman" is a comic, right--nothing more? So what exactly are you asking? Illusions can do anything in YOUR mind, but NOTHING anywhere else.
However, people do leave other people every day for imagined illusions that only ever existed in their own mind. It's a sad world where people are too good for their own reality, out of touch with their circumstances and too aloof to change what they don't like instead of always running away.
