England simply well enough and lacked in strikers..their upfront play was extremely weak..im surprised they made it as far as they did...
Argentina once they scored their first goal took off a striker and replaced it with a defender hoping germany wouldnt score yet the defence was quite weak..i think they would have won if they had of put in another striker and just scored another goal rather than letting it get all the way to penalty shootouts..germany was always going to be the stronger team when it came to penalties...
brazil againest france, a team that played badly in the groups yet once they had their win againest....cant remember the team they seemed to have a burst of energy and a zest to win...

England - Penalty shootouts. England were not so good at it. It was rather a tough job for Robinson even though 1 didn't go in the goal.

And the number one reason is...
None of these teams is as good as most people thought they were!
The best teams in the world are still playing (Or waiting to play...)
FIFA is certainly going to have to re-think thier pre-world cup ratings...

There are surely upsets in a major tournament. They did not play well in their last 16 matches too.

Thats football. Remember, the reason they play the games is to see who wins. Never take anything, even Brazil (I CANT BELIEVE THEY LOST...TO FRANCE OF ALL TEAMS...tear...sniffle) for granted.

they all underestimated their opponents in their matches. seriously, ever since their 6-0 win against serbia/montenegro, argentina already thought they were world champions...waaay too overconfident.
