meaning everyone would pay the same amount of percent on thier income, for example 10%. The rich the poor and everyone in between would all pay 10% of thier income. I think that is equal and fair...doesn't America strive for equality?

I wish, I wish, I wish we could pass this. It would end so much rich vs. poor, partisan bickering. And, yes, it would be the only fair way. With it, however, you must also get rid of all the exemptions, deductions, and every other loophole people use to avoid paying their portion of the tax burden.

1) Government would lose money beyond comprehension if everyone paid 10%.

2) Under a 10% flat tax rate, people making over $100,000 would end up paying less than they are currently are. (70-100G is 28%)

How would you go about selling a plan that would make the deficit worse as well as letting the well-to-do pay less than they currently are?

that's not equality at all. it's injustice.

I think that is an excellent idea. But I don't believe our government will ever go for it, it's just to fair for them to handle.

See, it fairly is like this: We gave them trillions of greenbacks because of the fact the neo-cons suggested that they had create jobs. that did no longer ensue. Is it because of the fact the wealthy are particularly plenty smarter than the neo-cons and have been given funds for no longer something? No! they are compassionate, loving, and effective people who go with to help. All they choose are some trillions funds greater. we can get that from Social secure practices, Medicare, Medicaid, college lunch courses, after-college courses, Head start up, PBS, nutrients stamps, public housing, and from taxing the midsection type on down so plenty greater. Then they PROMISE to do greater to help. See? trouble-free peasy.
