You can buy a closet auger at your local hardware store. I prefer the ridgid k-6 because it will go completely through the toilet trap. It is a hand cranked device that will grab blockages out of toilet traps. It's a little work, but it is the right and professional way to remedy your problem.

If you can't pull it out use hot water...and flush and repeat. Have a plunger handy just incase things start to over flow. You might be able to plunge it through as it starts to dissolve. The key here is that you want to reduce it's size or break it up somehow (try using a wire coat hanger to do this) so it will move through the system. Be patient. You should be able to do this without calling an expensive plumber or having to take anything apart.

Put draino or lye in the toilet. This should disintegrate the bar of soap faster. Do not splash this in your eyes so make sure your protect them at all times. Use plunger to create a rocking motion to dislodge after draino or lye is completely gone.

Get a bucket of HOT water so it will melt faster and keep pouring. I hope you don't have to remove the toilet. If you do use a new wax ring before you put it back on.

Blame the child. If you can't reach it , try a plunger. If you have to remove the toilet, retrieve it and replace the wax ring for a good seal. Good luck

turn off your water to the toilet. flush that last load of cold water.
have tons of boiling water going. pour nothing but boiling water in toilet and flush. repeat til gone. should melt enough pretty quick to slide on down. I would even try a snake to see if I could bust it up a little.

If the soap is stuck into the drainage duct, then, you better pour out hot water (as hot as possible) and keep trying. Good luck!
