I hope England does not ever think of him a leader. England needs to find new young talent.

Sure, he's a jerk, but there's no shortage of them out on the field, is there?

I thought it was a bit harsh to send him off for shoving Ronaldo, especially on such an important occasion (perhaps a yellow and a stern talking to?). It was hardly violent conduct (more belligerent - and i can't stand Rooney, so I'm not showing favours), and Ronaldo was being an even bigger jerk screaming at the ref for a card to be shown.

I hope and pray that FIFA starts to get tough on players 'simulating' and telling the ref how to do his job. These things are scars on the face of football.

He's not a jerk, hes just stupid because he is young and inexperienced. Also, I think that he doesnt give them a worse name than they have already. The more he plays and older he gets, the less of a problem he will be. Someday, he will probably emerge as a big leader for England.

Well. He's a very talented player and surely as he's only 18 he's got a brilliant future.
But on the other hand, he needs to learn how to control his temper and respect both his team co players and opponents.
What really makes a GREAT player is a combination of skills and character.

he's a jerk alright, but we are all too at some point, so give the guy a break. I'm not from Britian but I am a little bit sad England out from WC.

Yes, a jerk, a bully, a spoiled brat, a hooligan. He doesn't stand up to the basic dignity of a national team. He's just a deliberate groin stomper. Get rid of him.

I would like to see all of you being provoked the way he was, then tell me how you would have reacted

The Jerk in question is Cristiano Ronaldo, overacting, sending off his team-mate at club level and then winking to Scolari, what will you call that??? Heroism????? I'm afraid you all need spectacles as you seem to be blind!!!!!
