gmail is an e-mail account you get from an invitation from (originally from google) but now those who have a gmail account can send an invite to sign up for g-mail... its pretty cool if you care about how much storage space you want... last time i checked... gmail max storage was almost 2.7 Gigs... and you can also use that space for personal storage if you can find the program that will do that for you... oh and btw if you are interested in a g-mail account just let me know... send me an e-mail at guy.cormier76@gmail.com

An electronic mail service provided by Google, currently in beta. As such, you need to be invited by someone who already has an account in order to get an account for yourself. I have been using it for about a year and a half, and I love it. Uncomplicated, clean. Very good.

G-Mail = Google Mail. Not dissimilar to Yahoo Mail, but you have to be invited by a current member in order to join.
