My grandparents house is haunted, there's a nice elderly couple upstairs and a nasty jerk in the basement who wants to trip you down the stairs.
Every animal we've ever had in that house has growled or barked at the same spot in the basement for years.
It imitated my Grandma's voice, calling my sister to come to the stairs while the grandparent's were out shopping. Lights used to circle the walls like you'd see from passing cars, even though the house sits on a one-way street.
My sister's stereo came on and it was loud enough to disturb grandad who asked me to go down and tell my sister to turn it down. My sister wasn't home.
While doing some remodeling in the house we found a couple of wooden drawers hidden under the plaster of the basement stairs. The only things in there were an old shirt and a newspaper that Grandma took out and "lost".
Rumor is that he was a horse thief and was hung by great grandad.

There was a woman that had died in the house that we grew up in & my siblings claimed that they saw her ghost outside the window facing toward the garden.
We did have strange occurrences in the house (several light bulbs popping in the same room but then working properly later on without the bulbs being changed, things suddenly disappearing & showing up in the most unlikely places later on, cold spots, etc.) but these may be contributed more to poltergeist activity more to a haunting. We were a large family & poltergeists are very likely to be around adolescents.
My mother did have a very frightening [supernatural] experience in my sister's bedroom & would never sleep in that room after that.
I have seen a doppelganger of my cat (which is very likely--she is an evil thing!), & ectoplasm in the sense of an entity that could fully materialize.
I think that we all have the ability to see them if we only our minds to them. All children have the ability until it is "brain-washed" out of them, which I think is extremely sad. I think that if we were to keep an open mind to these type things it would be easier to open hearts & minds to other things as well, like being more acceptable of others [living] as well.

I have lived in several haunted places. The most amazing of these involved a poltergeist who was extremely powerful. Things that happened during the years I lived in that place - I wouldn't have believed it, if it hadn't happened to me personally. He made a lot of noise walking. He walked around the attic, walked down the attic stairs, he moved things around in the attic (we could actually hear things being dragged across the floor - heavy things - and sure enough, he had been rearranging the clutter up there). Sometimes he danced. After a couple of weeks he started moving things around downstairs, too. Apparently this ghost tried to scare us off at first, but eventually he became like part of the family.

I have been in a few supposedly haunted houses. Nothing happened except that I got a very nice tour and a couple pictures that turned out without any flaws.
