Most of the celebrities nowadays are actors and whatever, and pop artists. What happened to Rock? Is it cuz none of the bands stick together long enough?

Rockstars??? Most of the new bands today can't even play three chords, let alone put a coherent album together. Those days are GONE...

I'll tell you why.....back in the day it was about the music and not the looks. I mean look at bands like Def Leppard, AC/DC and Metallica, these guys are hideous. The only thing they had goin for em was they could play rock like gods. Nowadays all you have to be is good looking, and you can hire people to write your music. Or just buy the song from a songwriter. The old school bands were true artists, now it's about the money and music has taken a back seat to an industry that is populated by cheats and sharks and well you get the picture.

Real Rock got pushed aside by bands like Nirvana and other grunge bands like that back in the 80's. Trust me, I would love to see those bands or others like them make one hell of a return. I miss the days of kick-a$$ metal shredding the airwaves day and night, but I fear the day may be long in coming. As long as Rap, Hip Hop and other genre's get so much attention it doesn't bode well for the good old days. I'll still hold out hope for that lon awaited day, however. Long live Rock n' Roll!

It’s because there is no market for rock right now. The puppet masters at MTV have conditioned their sheep to embrace rap and aren’t giving any exposure to rock bands anymore. There are tons of great rock and metal bands on the underground scene. Look to the clubs who host them.

Because no one want to be murdered like Kurt Cobain.....R.I.P Kurt. Most great rock bands are underground and a ton of black metal bands have been formed.
