Stay out of trouble. Been there and done that and it's horrible. It's like being in a small cage and not being able to get out. Your lonely, the food sucks, no privacy, don't know what in the hell is going on in the outside world. You don't even get a chance to see the sky. My husband's still in there and the phone calls are way expensive, and if you wanna eat something other than what they give you it'll real take a toll on whoever is helping ya. It's too expensive. You gotta always just stay to yourself but you gotta stand up for yourself too if not then you got trouble. Jail life is a rough life. I don't never wanna go back. It's a tough world in there. It aint nothing like out here. It's completely segregated. Every race has to stay with it's own race. Even though your friends with all different types of people it just isn't the same in there. You know even though your not racist you basically have to be for the likelihood of your own life. Stay safe

My fiance is in jail right now and this is the 2nd time. I hear about how horrible it is everyday, He said that some people actually enjoy being in there by their comments. The food sucks, they eat 4 day old green beans and slop. It cost money everyday to just be in there, and the phone calls to your family is very expensive. There are SO many fights and the cops dont even care, they dont even break it up until something bad happens. AND the C.O are as*holes! AND the commissary is so expensive, a can of vienna sausages at walmart is 40 cents and in there its like a 1.60 for one!

i have recently spent a period of 4 years in the English jail system
my experiences i have to say were pretty good, i managed to use my time effectivly, i managed to kick my drug habit and have not re-offended in the last 18 months. But not everyone's experience is going to be the same, it all depends on the attitude of the person and the jail that they go to. i think i was just lucky.

I have spent two stints, only for one day on each occasion.

It is full of some of the lowest types of human life forms. Very unpleasant people: dumb, crazy, violent, etc.

No privacy.
Few moral and intelligent people (many of each type, but few with both).
Stinky.
Food is awful.

Very little sense of anyone giving a damn about you and your humanity.

I don't recommend jail as a vacation spot.
;-)

I have done one stretch for 3 years. Your question is a little vague. But if you want to know how to survive in jail, keep to yourself as much as you can but you still need allies to help fight off "Bubba". Excuse the term but how else do i explain it cleanly. Just do what you have to do to survive. Good luck.
