I guess the English had great expectations from their National Team (and they are just a bit arrogant too) so it's hard for them to accept that the World Cup is over for them.
I also think a huge mistake is that they underestimated Portugal. They should have kept in mind that Portugal is a strong team, great, talented players and a very clever coach.
Anyway, I wish Portugal the best of luck, France is a strong team, but surely not unbeatable.

Portugal didn't play a better game...otherwise, their 11 men would have beaten Englands 10 during the 120 mins. It was even. Portugal won the penalty shootout...a lottery...basically no different from drawing a name from a hat. I think, come Weds night, we'll have a lot of bitter Portuguese fans moaning about losing to France and claiming they played a 'better' game.
Ps...sure you kicked us out of Euro 2004...but i seem to remember Portugal losing...at home to Greece (a team that didn't even qualify for the World Cup)..in the final. Hmm

Instead they were willing to overlook Englands crappy playing and say "If it gets us to the final, we don't care" and like Brazil just afterwards, they were shown the door.
