Intense weight lifting can impair your growth if you are still growing. That's why it's not reccomended for children or teens.

No that is not true.weight lifting(training) promotes the growth and definition of muscle in your body.Like all exercise it also promotes metabolic increase, and endorphin production.The pituitary gland that produces and excretes growth hormone coupled with the thyroid are the determining factors in growth rate and structural size.Weight lifting (short of serious injury) has nothing to do with those functions or structure it only relates to muscle strength and size and conditioning tendons and joints.These are all good attributes.The only time weight lifting impacts negatively is if you have joint or structural damage where the added stress would create more damage or aggravate the injury or condition, in which low (no) impact training is available using machines. Good Luck and keep lifting it will not slow your rate of growth just simply improve your physique and strength while you are growing.

Nope.. in fact weight lifting/bearing will stimulate better bone growth in the weight bearing areas of the body...

provided of course you are doing it the right way

I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 15. An important sheath hasn't grown over the bones yet before that age.
