I would recommend getting a camera and taking some pictures of yourself with different poses, different sides of your face or straight on, different smiles (teeth, no teeth etc) and just see which one you look best on. Then whenever someone takes a pic you can get into the best position and look good on the pic!

I don't know. I always look good in my pictures. LOL... Probably because I smile and that brightens all my features even more. Try it. It's not about clothes or background. It's how alive you look that makes a good shot.
Oh... and two more things contribute as well, the camera and the one behind the camera. A good equipment and a good photographer can make anything or anyone look beautiful. :D

I found out that lighting and the position of the camera is important. the light needs to be coming down on your face, not from behind or into it, because that will cause you to looked washed out. If the camera is slightly above you also, then your face will look thinner , plus you'll be looking up and your eyes will be more open and that looks better in pictures.

Before taking the photo you look in a mirror and see what "face" suits u best. After that u make it at the camera :) Good Luck!!
If u don't have a mirror i think u can simply smile

You tell yourself..."I am gorgeous!...I am the so good looking....I look fantastic today." These thoughts will show on your face and you will take a great picture.

there are no instructions into "looking good in a picture", some people are photogenic, some arent. and maybe its just you that think you look bad in that photo because people judge themselves the most

Not an easy answer, as I usually look horrendous myself.
Relax, don't try for a phony smile, be yourself and think happy or humorous thoughts.

well, the impurity in the skin show it self nowadays a lot of new techniques have taken place the photographer can use the computer to fix the impurities
