The controversy about the personality of Jesus Christ is the major difference between Islam and Christianity. This difference keeps the followers of the two religions apart. Muslims look at Jesus Christ as a great Prophet of God and love and respect him as much as they love and respect Abraham, Moses and Muhammad. Christians on the other hand consider Jesus as God or son of God, a concept that Muslims cannot accept. Islam teaches that Jesus never made such a claim for himself. As a matter of fact all the cardinal doctrines of Christianity that are rejected by Islam center around the personality of Jesus. Specifically these are:
1. The Trinity 2. The Divinity of Jesus 3. The Divine Sonship of Christ 4. Original Sin, and 5. Atonement. It is clear that all these dogmas are the result of over-exhalting Jesus Christ above what God wants him to be. These differences focusing on the personality of Jesus have overshadowed the many similarities between Christianity and Islam.

You have brought up several points, and after carefully reading your eloquent point of view, I need to ask you the following question: Have you researched the Old and New Testament? Have you asked questions to the Rabbi, a Priest, or a Pastor? Forget politics. Forget fanaticism. We are converging with the intellect. Listening and speaking without prejudice.
You see, the coming of the Messiah was prophetized many, many years ago. The Old Testament said it would happen. You have to remember: God's time is not our time. It also fulfilled another prophecy: Christ would die for our sins of the world.

You say that Christ never said that he was the Son of God. He did. I invite you to read the Bible. Christ was not only a great teacher, but he came to save the Jewish people first. And he said it a couple of times.

I believe he was a great teacher and that he tried to teach the world how to live like the Jewish people do give to the poor, treat others like you would yourself. But unfortunately his teaching went a little to far. His followers have always been zealous to get people to join their religion and they have caused grief not just to the Jews people but to others as well including the first nation people of Canada. Has the Christian religion that Jesus really brought peace into the world I would say nope. Christianity has caused a lot of wars and a it's followers have caused upheveal and heart ache to a lot of people. So if Jesus's was the son of G-d he would have come down from heaven along time ago to clear up this mess his followers have caused; and much to this dismay just because they believe in him or claim too not many of them will go to heaven because of their actions. Because they must lead clean lives for they have been taught that no man knows when Jesus will return to this earth so be ready at all time to be recieve by him.

So Islam wants to be friends with Christians. All Christians have to do is stop believing in God and bring Jesus down as a mere messenger, like that other guy, Muhammed, and get rid of the other dogmas and principles they have built on over the years. Jesus, for the Catholics, is the Son of God, and not a simple messenger like Muhammed. Your choice to bring Jesus down to your level in your wish to be an all inclusive religion, but you are so exclusive and irrespectful of those who do not believe like you that rather than create the harmony you seek, you create extremism and foster hatred.

Jesus was the only "prophet" to claim to be God. He said, "No one comes to the Father but through me." The Jewish priests executed him because he blasphemed, or claimed to be God. Neither Mohammad, Buddha nor Confusius ever claimed to be God. I notice that Muslims say they include Jesus among the propherts, but do many Muslims even read the Bible to find out what Jesus actually said? If you think Jesus was a great prophet, do you also think he was a great liar -- or a teller of truth?

I think Jesus and Muhammad were both very influential men.

Jesus had a small following and preached about peace and loving your neighbor. Jesus inevitably died practicing peacfull nonviolent resitance. His teachings were written down for future generations I would put him in the Ghandi camp.

Muhammad was a tribal leader with no possesions. He had many followers and led many people in peace and in battles. His mesage included a completely new bible with tons of detailed information on how to live ones life. I would put him into the Moses \ Hari Krishna camp.

I find it ironic that the Koran has more information on Jesus Christ during childhood, than does the Bible. It also contains more information about his mother, Mary, than does the Bible. Mary is much revered in the Muslim religion & is held in very high esteem. Does this settle the argument? No. Will it bring about world peace? Unfortunately not. It's just a very interesting fact.

Who is perfect in this world but God alone? That being said, Who can live a life in the flesh without sin, but god alone. In Islam, Judeasim, and Christianity, the belief is that only god can forgive sin. Therefor, if Christ could forgive us our sind, than he must be god. On another note, God is the only one who can heal the blind. In fact, even with the new advancements in medicine and science, we still cannot heal the blind. Christ is the only one in history that could performthis feet. Thoughout the new testiment and in the over 20,000 ancient documents that support these findings.

Jesus claimed more than once that he is the son of God. You need to read the New Testiment of the Holy Bible, King James Version. As you read it pray to God, (not Muhammad or anyone else) for understanding and knowledge. Jesus said, "Seek and ye shall find".

I hope you find the answers you are searching for. I will pray for you also.

To quote the song, "He's a man. Just a man." I believe all people are part of the divine energy of the universe.

Let me know when the monotheistic patriarchy realizes that it doesn't matter what you believe, so long as your spiritually fulfilled. There is no being on this Earth that can quantify the divine will or intent, and it is utter hubris to try.

well, personally i believe that Jesus is the Son of God. obviously answering this to you cause i myself is a Christian. honestly i can only answer you base on the trinity concept. the others, i don't have words in mind to explain

in Islam, they can't accept that God is trinity because to them God is only one and it's not three. it is true that God is one. but it's three in one. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. back to the book of Genesis. God created man in His own image. just like us human we are three in one; body, soul and spirit.

Trinity is very important in Christian doctrines. some may illustrate Trinity as the instant coffee three in one. it doesn;t mean that it is three different coffee in one packet. it;s the ingredient that is different.

Islam also claims that Jesus is just a prophet but in Al-Quran, it does states what Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the light". He is the way Heaven and whoever believes in him and faith in Him, is going to heaven.

hope you'll understand what i'm saying to you
