Yes it is, especially for Business or Journalism/Public Relations majors. I live in the next town over and the majority of my high school class ended up there, including my boyfriend. The school's party reputation is an old stereotype that the town is consistently trying to combat. Chico itself is a really awesome place. Having lived here my whole life, I'm pretty much ready to get out of the area. However, as a Public Relations major, I would have probably gone to Chico State if I weren't so eager to experience something new.

No, it is definetley not, the partying reputation is completely true and the top Cal-state schools are san francisco state, san jose state, cal poly san luis obispo and cal poly pomona. If you have no choice but to go to chico state, i suggest dont waste 20,000 on such a school, it would be much better to go to community college save a couple thousand and get into a better university after sophmore year and transferring.
