lay on your side, and do leg lifts, then to the reverse leg lift laying on your side take the other leg and lift it, then lay on your stomach and put your hands behind your head and lift your head and abdomen off the floor as high as it will go, then do the other side, when your done on your side, turn on your back and hold the bottom of the couch, and do leg lifts, you will see a result in a few days, if you do them often, they are WAY easier and more effective than crunches and they don't hurt

for videos, use palates, they work on the core, and you can get more ideas on how to work out

Teh old fashioned Crunches ought to be enough, with moderate to high intensity, add weights if needed i.e you don't need to do 400 or 500 crunches, even 50 or below will suffice as long as the intensity is challenging for you and reducing your body fat would help too, remember, to see your abs you gotta have 7% or less bodyfat, 14% for women.
I wouldn't recommend going any further than that though..the body needs fat after all. You don't need to buy machines either.

It's difficult, I'm also doing that with a Bowflex and the first day i did them i notice my stomach was firm and what could be consider the birth of my abs, but now i don't even feel the exercise is working, and i do 3-set of 15-reps each. If you use a machine, increase the resistance and do more reps than what you will normally do.

I'm serious, do 50 crunches every 2 hours.
When that gets easy for you
do 100 every hour.
Give it one month you will see results.
