You may be lacking in z's for another reason as well — position. For instance, inveterate stomach sleepers soon find that their favorite sleeping position is about as comfortable as balancing on a basketball; while back sleepers also have to search for a new path to slumber (back sleeping isn't advised after the first trimester, since being flat on your back can put unnecessary pressure on your most important and overworked blood vessels). Sleeping on your side — your left side, if possible — makes things just that much easier on your circulatory system, though if you're not used to the position, it can also make things just that much harder when it comes to falling asleep.

Hope this helps and good luck with your pregnancy! ~Bon

first answer is correct to my knowledge. LEFT. cervical stitches... i'm assuming she's having a high risk pregnancy and needs to be on bed rest...? if that's the case then of course she can't always be on left side but that is the best for circulation purposes... especially if she has any high blood pressure readings as i did with both of my pregnancies. she'd be best off asking her OB/midwife what they think she should be doing since it sounds like she's probably being monitored. good luck!

Her left side. This means that her uterus is not pushing on the blood vessels feeding her lower body.

Whichever way she is more comfortable. A cushion under the bump should help support it and make it easier for her.
