There is no way to explain relativity in the amount of space reasonable here. There are hundreds of books on the subject, good ones by Stephen Hawking (A Brief History of Time) or Brian Greene (The Fabric of the Cosmos), or look up the subject in Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relativity

Relativity principle: Laws of Physics are the same for all observers in constant velocity relative motion.

Observation: The speed of light is observed to be the same value by any observer regardless of the velocity of that observer with respect to the source of the light.

From these basics, the Special Theory of Relativity is derived.

Principle: Force felt by an object in open space accelerating at rate g is indistinguishable from the force of gravity which results in an acceleration of g. (Equivalence principle)

From this (plus Special Relativity) the General Theory of Relativity is derived, which is a refinement of Newton's law of gravitation.

General theory states that gravitation is the effect of the warping of space-time by massive objects, and that freely moving objects in space-time will follow a path of minimum interval (geodesic), and will experience forces if constrained to other paths. The shape of that minimum-interval path is determined by the geometry of space time around the massive object.

Of couse, this merely brushes on the the subject. There is much more.

Relativity is very simple to understand.I give u one example.
When any person spends one hour with his/her loved one, he will remember that one hour as one moment while if the same person holds his hand on flame for two seconds, he will remember that incident as a hour-long thing. This is called relativity. It all depends on how u see the world.

the faster you go, the slower time goes.
