Polemic = A controversial argument, especially one refuting or attacking a specific opinion or doctrine; a person engaged in or inclined to controversy, argument, or refutation.

Pedantic = bookish

so "polemic" as a word is more "perturbing" or "provoking".

It depends on what you're trying to say, both are actual words. You've spelled them correctly so you can look them up.
