what do you think of the US senators that are for giving SS benefits to non-US citizens?

I think it is ridiculous, why should I have to pay into social security if these guys aren't having to??? Are these other countries going to give me their equavilent to Social Secuirty?

It's really a moot point and nothing to get too concerned about for several reasons.

First off, you would have to pay into SS for years and years before you could ever draw any of it back.

Be realistic here, how many illegals are going to have twenty years of steady, legal employment in this country? Most make a little money (much of which is never reported) and head back home.

Another thing to consider is this: If an illegal is hired for any amount of time legally and his paychecks have withholding taxes for SS and these are never claimed then his withholding tax paid into Social Security goes into the general fund and all us legal residents benefit from his contribution.

Aside from getting a good paying job,illegal residents and immigrants look at the SS benefit as a easy way to get medical attention which will be financially impossible in their countries of origin. The SS system is almost bankrupt and is at its worst and bleak state. The baby boomers are all now retiring and drawing huge benfits and living longer. To have illegals to deplete the SS resources is the worst that Americans can do for themselves.
