Allegedly, "The View" was bringing Rosie O'Donnell in this upcoming fall. Rosie made some comments about Star Jones, so Star doesn't like her. The show had already notified Star that they wouldn't be renewing her contract for the next season. The other members of the show told her that they would support her, and let her tell the viewers when and why she was leaving the show. They claim they were hoping she would find another show, and announce that she was leaving on her own terms, to pursue a better opportunity. Instead, Star announced that she was being fired, and then made several appearances to repeat her story. The show decided to let her go immediately, rather than finish off the season, based on her actions.

The boss (Barbara Walters) didn't know that the employee(Star Jones) was going to say on live TV. When the boss doesn't trust the employee, the employee gets terminated.

She just admitted to having weight loss surgery and apparently the women from The View felt betrayed that she didn't share it with them before, so she quit.
I think that's what I heard anyway. Best of luck to Star, I think she's fabu.

She's sick of being one of the five annoying chicks that sit around and gossip, so she has left the show.
Actually, Rosie O'Donnell is taking over Meredith's spot. And Barbara didn't want her back. aka: contract dispute. Plus she wasn't happy about Rosie O'Donnell. So, she beat them to the punch and quit.

Got fired from "The View" and Rose O-Donnell took her place, and Star is pissed off, big time.
