It all depends on how he feels of course, but I'd love for him to give it one more year and hopefully go out while carrying the Stanley Cup one more time.

I wish he'd try one more year. He's a quiet leader that helped pull Detroit out of a major slump and lead them to 3 Stanley Cup championships. Yzerman has class. He shouldn't return to the game if he's not up to playing, and only he can make that call.
He's become a staple in Detroit: he's the longest serving captain in NHL history, and once he retires, the team is going to have a hard time replacing him. I just hope Detroit will come out of the rebuilding period with the leadership, talent, and drive to win us some more Cups.

Give it one more year Steve! He is the heart and soul of the Red Wings, one of the greatest players in NHL history. It would be great to see him end his career with a Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup.

I want him to stay. He is the longest running player we have here and he is a damn good captain.
