The area of a circle is pi*r^2. Here, r is 9 ft (1/2 the diameter). That makes r^2 equal to 81. Multiply by pi (approx 3.1416) and your answer is 254.47 sq ft.

Pi R squared = 254.469 sq. ft.

pi = 3.14159...
R = 18/2 = 9
R*R = 81
3.14159 * 81 = 254.469 sq. ft

Area = Pi (d^2)/4

A = Pi((18^2)/4)
A = (324/4)pi
A = 81pi
A = about 254.469ft^2

given:
d = 18 ft

YOu will find:
A = ____ ft²

Formulae:
r = d/2
A = pi r²

r = 18 ft/2
r = 9 ft

A = pi r²
A = pi(9 ft)²
A = 81 pi ft² or 254.47 ft²
