the thing is even if we care about those victims i think we should start doing something about it if not for us at least for the generations to come. i see all over europe people out on the streets rallying to stop the war. even the united nation doesnt seem too concerned.
it makes me think of my kids what are they gonna do and how are they gonna feel when they grow up i want my kids to have feelings for other human beings and be able to fight corruption and with what i see today from people's attitudes i'm very concerned.
but thanks to all of you who share my feelings and concerns!!

it's the curse of liberalism.

the damn liberals favor giving the criminals ALL the rights and not doing a damn thing for the victim's family.

i, for the life of me, can't figure them out.

i live close to a maximum security prison where they used to do executions. every bloody time they'd get ready to fry one of those monsters on death row there would be hundreds of protestors lined up outside the prison saying that capital punishment was cruel. i have never once seen anyone demonstrating on behalf of the victims or their families.

We live in a society that emphasizes importance of self. You have probably heard of "me-ism." Well, it's a real phenomenon. People are willing to put themselves and what they want above anything else--no matter what the cost. When you are constantly rewarded for thinking about yourself first, then how do you think that is going to affect society as a whole? In exactly the way you described in your question; it creates a nation of senseless pigs who don't give a crap about other humans.

Now someone will probably say that when tragedy strikes, people always shine through. But that's not a positive endorsement. Why do you have to wait for something to go horribly wrong for people to act decent to one another? Look at September 11th for example. Everyone was all "united we stand," but then things went right back to the way it was.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic, but I think it's only going to get worse. And may god have mercy on us all if the bird flu ever mutates to spread among humans. Then you'll really see the "best" of humanity.

If you think it's bad here, you should watch the news and see what is happening in Iraq, and how people are victimized there, and China, and Afghanistan, and Africa, and Bosnia, and in some South American countries. Count your blessings, it could be worse. And if you are such an activist, then do somehting to change it. Become a Lawyer, or a Judge, or a Legislator.

What I find REALLY pathetic is people who complain about things but do nothing to make it better. I mean, anyone can gripe, but it takes somebody with strength of charachter to do something to change it.

People should have more sympathy toward victims. But it is also my belief that people convicted of crimes such as rape or murder should be forced to undergo psychological treatment. People generally are not born rapists or murders, sometimes they are born insane, but it is my understanding that usually these people were horribly abused or raped/molested at some point in their lives. Now, im not trying to say that we should feel sorry for them, because although they might hav been a victim at one time they stopped being one when they hurt another person. My point is that people like rapists are released from prison after so many years and are expected to be "reformed", but i don't believe they really can reform without psychological help.

We are senseless pigs because we are all egosentric people. Half of the people who justify things don't give a damn about the world, but about how it effects them. And it's not just the half who justify It's everyone. Even you. So in a way are you asking Why are we all senseless pigs? Yes, Maybe not as far Murder or rape, but in other ways. By making someones day worse or saying a cuss word in front of a child. It's all senselessness and we are all pigs.

Yes,I urge you contact the Rape crisis and get train with them and educate people around you.Start small and have your own web site and go door to door then you can wake up the American people who are individualization and eventually you never know you can start a movement and make your difference in your community.
( I myself educated public about break in around my neighborhood and now no problem because, everyone is looking for each other, and I also lead my small group of 8-9 moms
sold scrip more than$650,000 and my school profited about $32,000 in one year but I was working 80 hours per week for a year and I did it without getting pay.)

They were most probably conceived in the wrong spirit of copulation. Like senseless swine, perhaps? Then brought up with no clear direction on what is just and fair for humanity, then mistreated again just like swine... I dunno. Most people I know in the West have this crutch or missing piece in their psyche. They either cant feel their spirituality, or they lack practical knowledge of civility.. so they are like bad sickminded pigs. What's pathetic is that a/ this is not a commonality recognized by the majority, or, b/ there really are a lot of evil son/daughter-of-a-bitches out there and there out to git ya ! Its just a sign of the times and sadly, its not just here in America. Ask God for relief to ya.

Americans find it difficult to relate to others because their government has desensitised them to the woes of the world, by fear mongering through the outlet of the media.
When those in charge get their priorities straight and put things like public healthcare and education above things like military expenditures, then perhaps people will pull their heads out of their butts and realise that killing shouldn't be something to be proud of.

As long as Americans justify Abortions----then we will be pigs.
As long as Americans justify Gay Marriage --- then we will be pigs.

As long as American justify rape of this nation by the Bushes---then we will be pigs.

As long as we make the Statue of Libery statement a lie and our offer of refuge a misrepresentation to the Word ------"Send me your tired, your poor, your hudled masses yearning to breathe free---send these, the tempest tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the Golden door"---------by sending away Mexicans or any other culture who seeks refuge at our shores........then we will be pigs.

As long as there are people who would rather kill Americans than honor them----we will be pigs---thanks to George Bush.

As long as we are people who would rather be concerned with Gay Marriage than we are with Health Care and Medical care for our nation, we will be pigs.

As long as our government is guilty of crimes against humanity, instead of being the country who stands for an example of compassion for humanity, we will be pigs.

Until then-----we're just dangling out here waiting for the second coming of Christ-----Oh, Lord----Come Quickly.
