There are multiple standard orders of operation, but the most common one is this:
Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication
Division
Addition
Subtraction
You do the operations in that order as you evaluate the expression.
So, 15-14/(5)(4)-20 = 15 - 14/20 - 20 = -5 - 7/10 = -57/10.
If 15-14/(5)(4)-20 is not exactly the expression you started with, you need to do it with whatever you had. Another point: calculators use a different order of operations than they teach in school, so your calculator will tell you something different if you try to use it for the problem.
Now, then, if you really meant (15-14)/((5)(4)-20), then the answer is 1/0, or undefined.

so it's (15-14)/((5)(4)-20)? Do order of operations:
15-14=1, so 1/ ((5)(4)-20)= 1/ 20-20 = 1/0 = undefined

5-14 divided by (5)(4)-20 = 1/0 which is undefined.

The question is unclear. I will add this possibility to the answers already given. 15 - 14 / (5) (4) - 20 = -16 1/5

(15-14)/(20-20)= 1/0
you cant take 1 piece from 0 wholes...
therefore the answer is undefined

I did the problem and got -16 1/5. BTW. You cannot divide a number by zero. It is inpossible.
