I think their claws are a little long and sharp to be having in the house or on your lap

well, you may have a hard time finding a pet carrier. Also, the Mercat may have sudden urges to dive into any body of water., such as, pools, birdbaths, the toilet (which is usually fatal for a fish). Perhaps a Unidog would be a better pet!

yea, not a good idea I think. too wild. you would have to bottle feed it as a baby, raise it yourself and maybe it could be tamed. I helped raise a baby orphan squirrel once up to about 6 months and we had to release it, it was too wild, a bad pet, and it never approached us once it was set loose. some squirrels keep in touch with their people parents... I would compare a mere cat with a squirrel for this reason.
