~Some time before the first scheduled work day. If it isn't, one can't be fired for an unexcused absence for missing any shift before the schedule is published.

There is real no official law that governs all work. If you are in retail or any job the schedule will be given to you at the immediate employment. However in retail the schedule will change and they are supposed to give you a 1-2 week notice. The only thing I have heard on regulations from labor board on notice of work is one full-day.

Legally, I'm not sure but I had the same problem. I was working for a major company and they had stated that the schedules would be posted two weeks ahead of time, that was a lie. Somedays the employees wouldn't get the schedule until that very Sunday that began the week, not two weeks ahead of time.

I THINK ITS LIKE 36-48 HOURS AHEAD OF THE FIRST SCHEDULED DAY.

I think that if you are hourly a week in advance is a minimum.
