should "gone with the wind" be remade?

if so, who would be the best director to film it, the best actor to play rhett and the best actress to play scarlett?

You just can't out do the original Gone with the wind. classics are just what they are classics.

I don't think it should ever be remade, simply because of the political controversy around slavery, the South, etcetera.

But, if it was remade, I could imagine Scorcese as the director, since he did Gangs of New York very well. Rhett could be Leonardo DiCaprio and Scarlett as Michelle Branch (though she's a singer).

no way. the way they are ruining most of the classics these days it would probably be a catastrophe. i like the fact that they are revamping the old classics and putting them on dvd but alot of the ones that they have remade over completely just aren't the same. they almost ruin them.

I think it should be left as the true classic that it is. Someone wrote a sequel and there was a t.v. movie "Scarlet". It was a flop. Some things you just can't perfect.

NOOOOOO. There are enough BAD remakes already. AHHH sick of the remakes. The Omen is just 1 example. Just leave it alone. I'm ok now. :)
