i love that group,but what kind of music do they sing,i say its soft rock my fiance said its ROCK ??? i mean because mostly what they sing is love songs??

Gary Richrath was great on guitar but I couldn't stand the singer Kevin Cronins voice myself. They're just "rock". They did some softer ballads and some harder rock songs just like Journey and a lot of their contemporaries did back then. I think the ballads were their biggest hits. I preferred their rockers

I like REO; however, I really liked them much better in their early years. At that time, I would term them "ROCK". Check out "You Get What You Play For" which has some earlier tunes on it. In their later years, I would term them "soft rock".

It's BOTH!

They had a lot of Rock Ballads that cross over into Light/Soft Rock that they play on the light rock stations here in Spokane WA (98.1 and 99.9 and 107.1) but they also have Hard Rock/Rock songs they play on several Rock stations (98.9 and 103.9 and 105.7)

Many of their songs cross over to different genres...
