I don't feel that way and I'm American, in fact I know A LOT of people who don't think this way either.
I have nothing against the people of any other country....and it's sad to know so many from those same other countries apparently have such ill feeling towards me and other Americans who DID NOT VOTE FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNFORTUNATELY IN POWER. I'm asking nicely, please don't continue to group all "Americans" into one big bunch, we're all very different people.

Hold it. We have some assumptions to clear up here. First, which turmoil is it to which you refer? I don't see more than the ordinary level of turmoil in this country at this time. Certainly nowhere near as bad as it has been here in the past, nor as bad as some other countries at present.
Secondly, which Americans seem so arrogant to you? We are all different, you know; Americans are at least as individualistic as any other civilized society; complex, not to be too easily categorized.
As to knowing what's best, well, we have opinions. Big deal; doesn't everyone? I mean, maybe we're bold enough to voice those opinions somewhat more than other people. That comes of having a First Amendment freedom of speech and of the press. You might think it was the best, too, if that idea spread a bit. Sure, we have our problems. But frankly, the rest of the world would do well to use our Constitution as a model. In fact, WE would do well to get back to government small enough to fit inside the Constitution!

Probably because other countries are always asking them for help and money all the time, and thus they appear to be in greater turmoil than the United States is. It's a case of if they want our cash they have to take our advice. Turmoil is part of the human condition.

Because they are too proud.
They grow up being told that they are special and privileged.
They are indirectly told that they are better that the rest of the world.
Parents encourage their children to be outspoken on all matters, which eventually turns into precociousness and then they don't listen to their parents anymore (or anyone else).
They do things 'their way or the highway' and force everyone to comply.
They think that because they live in the "land of opportunity" they should tell the rest of the world how to live and better themselves.
Yeah right!
I agree, they need to fix their own problems before anyone will take them seriously.
Let's face it, they're on another planet.

Because we want to spread democracy. You don't see our country fighting, bickering, and doing stupid violant things all the time. And if we do it's not as much as other countries. We are allowed to be ourselfs and not ruled by a dictator or some other form of government. We have the say in the matter when it comes to our country. We just want everyone to be happy, and we tried to find solutions to peoples problems. We are proud to be Americans and we are proud to help other countries.

That's not my personal belief. I think what you're referring to is our foreign policy, which is decided primarily by our leaders, a lot of whom are doing a very poor job.
Each country is unique especially in terms of history, cultural values and beliefs, and economics ... solutions for their problems should take this into consideration. The American way (whatever that is) is by no means a cure all. Anyone who thinks that there's a cookie cutter solution for the world's problems is quite naive.

Well, its like the old saying 'do as I say not as I do'.
Being a superpower, its easy to meddle in the affairs of other countries, especially if it affects our own interests.
I agree with you and most superpowers throughout history couldn't resist the temptation to do the same. What makes us different? Well we have resisted world dominance through force and coercion. Some may disagree with me though.

Most Americans are ethnocentric and ignorant in many ways. They think this country is the greatest especially for those who never travel and discover other parts of the world and the people in it.

Because there are places that are worst. Here, we have teenagers who drive cars and can afford a hamburger. Some countries children die before their teens. Go figure... Sometimes when questions like this are asked I hafta wonder how much living the asker has done.
