The center column has 9 1s that add up to 9; each column to the right and left of the center has one less 1 than the previous one, so their sums reduce by one until you get to the end, where there is only one 1. This is the highest number of columns of 1s you can add with having to carry, which fouls up the symmetry.

because every time you go to the next denomination above the 1s, you have to put a zero (like if you're timesing the 10s column then you need one zero) and so you get a pyramid of ones and when you add them at the end, the last column has one 1 and the rest are zeros, the next has two 1s and the rest are zeros and so on.
do it on paper and you'll see what I mean (hopefully)

I don't know what you're trying to get at. It's an interesting result, if it's true, but I don't know what you want us to tell you about it. I do beg to differ with the first answerer. Parts of the science of mathematics does change, but it's mostly math so advanced that average people never understand it.
