im not trying to bash homosexuals or anything but , why do they still belive in this "god" when they know that they will never have access to "heaven". ........its just sad , and it just shows me how powerful christian brainwashing can be , and like i mean isnt kind of an oxymoron , being a gay christian
and yes im an athiest
no i dont hate gays , and no im not gay
and no i dont think all gays are christian
and NO i dont want to hear some dum a$$ say "you can be gay and still go to heaven" please dont say something stupid , because it clearly states in the bible that being gay is a huge sin(Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind,
as he lieth with a woman, both of them have
committed an abomination: they shall surely be
put to death; their blood shall be upon them.)
so yea i just wanna know why(from homosexuals obviously) but if your strait and you think you know the anwser , by all means say what ever it is you have to say

All sex acts are unspiritual!
Except for procreation....
Every cubic milimetre of semen fluid contains 3,000,000 souls!....who go to various places according to the sex act...
For someone who practices yoga, this sexual energy goes to the brain, and causes extreme joy-ananda-as souls are God-like,full of joy, knowledge and eternity...
People who practice abstinence are called swami or those who can control their sex desires.Such people are true spiritual masters-Jesus was one.
All genuine spiritual masters teach the same rules regarding,no matter which faith they are. There are saints in each religion.
In order to get masses of congregation, most faiths dilute the message of the Lord, but the end result is diseases and spiritual suicide.
The Vedas are here to teach various ways of self control, and how to love God...and not man or woman, all covered with a material body full of ignorance, diseases and death.

Well, haven't you asked an interesting question!
There is so much misconception about what the scripture says about so called condemnation of gays.
Let's take your Leviticus example.
"If a man also lie with mankiind, as he lieth with a woman. . ." - think about this. A man who is gay doesn't lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman. A man lies with a man as a man.
Quite simple actually, unless you are locked into the legalistic teachings that you have obviously been taught.
Being an athiest has nothing to do with it, except that your question shows that you are not as athiestic as you wish to be!
The scripture says that Johnathon loved David. In fact, he loved him so much that he gave David his throne.
John was the disciple that Jesus loved, according to the scripture. John was propably sixteen and Jesus was already thirty.
It is very easy for so called Christians to dismiss these examples and announce that the scripture doesn't mean what it says.
It is just as easy to read the scripture with an open mind and see things from a different angle.
Oh, and since we're talking about Leviticus - it also says that if a man pisseth against the wall he shall be put to death. If your child back talks then you have the right to kill that child. Leviticus also says that it is a sin to mix cotton with any other material.
The thing about the Old Testament Law is this -
God NEVER wanted to put Jews under the law. According to scripture the Jews insisted on being put under the law so that they might prove how righteous they were.
God put down the law to show the Jews that they could NEVER be good enough to deserve God's love.
We receive God's love because God IS. Doesn't matter if you are a believer or not. Doesn't matter if you attend one church or the other.
The scripture says that the rain falls on the good and the bad.
Gay Christians may be some of only a few who truly understand that God is love. Regardless. Period.

I'm a Christian and friends with several gay Christians, so we've had this conversation a few times. I've heard three different justifications for how someone can be gay and go to heaven:
1. The Leviticus verse is part of Old Testament law that no longer applies due to events of the New Testament--so being gay is no longer a sin because of Jesus's death.
2. The Levitivicus verse is still in effect, but in God's eyes all sins are equal, so being gay is a sin, but not any worse than lying or stealing, and they've been forgiven of that sin.
3. All verses aside, the overwhelming message of the Bible is love, so if two people of the same sex love each other, the God of love will not bar them for heaven for loving someone else.
I've never never spoken to a homosexual person who believes in and has accepted God but still thinks that they won't have access to heaven.

The Laws of the Old Testament were in direct response to the prevailing moral attitude at the time. If you check the social situation in the Bible before these Laws were given - if you were travelling across the country and stopped in a town - there was a very good chance you or your wife/daughter would be raped - straight or gay.
The Laws in the Book you refer to also talk about adultery, incest, etc. and they are all in the same section - laws about sexuality - for straight people.
None of these are unforgiveable sins (on their own) - the only unforgiveable sin is denying/blaspheming the Holy Spirit.
Since these sexual laws were given no more attention in Jesus' time by the Master than any other law, it is reasonable to surmise that moral behavior had calmed down quite a bit from the animalistic behavior of earlier generations.
when Jesus came - he taught Love - and that he who is without sin cast the first stone. Jesus knows what's in peoples hearts - not just their private parts. anybody - straight or gay - can be a slave to sexual indecency, as well as living an exemplary life.

For every christian there is a different interpretation of the Bible.
There are SO MANY contradictions in the text. It's impossible to be a fundamentalist. You simply have to say: look this 2,000 year old morality doesn't have anything to do with REAL chrisitainity (something like this): the laws of the torah don't apply, women can wear jewelry, gay people can exist. Leviticus and Deutoronomy are basically thrown out.

Gay Christian? Adulterer Christian? Pedophile Christian? Thief Christian? Liar Christian?
What is the same answer to all these questions? Simple, being tempted with any sin is NOT A SIN. giving in and commiting the sin IS. A gay is no more sinful than a straight as long as he/she stays celebate until after marriage(with the opposite sex) and does not commit adultery after marriage. So you can be tempted to be gay and have gay sex but you can also be tempted to commit straight sex, both are equal sins. Sex if for procreation while married.

The gays know about that. But they still "choose" to be Christian. People don't believe something because they are convinced its true. They believe what seems like is the best option at the time. Christianity is "in style" in our society so people just go with it. Some people don't base their decisions on evidence or logic, they just do what "feels" right.

Because everybody needs to have faith. They may think differently than "true" Christians but their heart is in the right place and they want to be good people. Hoping maybe that Christians would not judge and accept them. Its a shame religion don't bring people together instead it just makes people seperate and make up reasons to be Atheists.
