That was once the thinking of the US during the Banana Repulic era. Well, we did that in the middle east, and thats one of the reasons terrorists pop up.

First and foremost, ALL PEOPLES, whether born in America or not, have the right to live free. If they shirk the attached responsibility, or simply do not care enough for freedom to pay its price, then that is their problem, but all men at least deserve the chance. Second, the vast supermajority of terrorists in Iraq are NOT IRAQIS!!! They come from various parts of the Middle East as well as other places. Third, can one spread democracy through killing others? I'm sure you'd say no, but I bet some older Germans will testify that just so happen to be true.

democracy will never work in the 3rd wold countries and even if it did it will oppose the United States big time for many other reasons.
the war on Iraq was not about spreading democracy!!!!!!
it's simply another attept by the US to take over the natural resources of a week country.
back in the 1980s the American government was the one that supported Saddam with his war against Iran and even supplied him with the WMDs.
the American government was the one who supported Al Qaida and even trained members INSIDE the USA to get rid of the russian occupation in Afghanistan.
the American government's best Allies in the middle east are the worst dictator ships of the 21st century.

A very good question.

When our own leader has close family friendships with the dictatorship in Saudi Arabia and we maintain friendly ties with the ruthless government in Angola, when we openly oppose the fairly elected president of Venezuela we are certainly sending the world a very mixed message.

Like all things, democracy works best when you practice what you preach. It's that simple.

The Russians will further their ties with Cuba even more now, I hope the USA won't go looking for 'WMDs' in Cuba. If McCain gets in I wouldn't put it past him, not sure about Obama though. Either way I wouldn't want to see a repeat of the Cuban crises we had under Kennedy.

Idiots like you are the reason the third world remains in chains. You don't understand democray any better than you do the US. You really need to know that when people in the US see comments like yours, they understand why you make them but you are not respected for them. An idiot is an idiot in any language in any nation.

I think that GWB saying we're trying to spread democracy is a load of crap that he came up with to get people to join in his massacre.
